We believe that by encouraging and supporting family music making, Music Together Bozeman can be a catalyst  for creating stronger families, deeper connections and expanded creativity within Bozeman area and surrounding communities. By making music a part of a child's life at an early age with support from the family, we seek to create fertile ground where the seeds of music can be planted, harvested and celebrated throughout a child's lifetime.

Today's music culture often revolves around downloading music off iTunes, watching music videos or voting for one's favorite American idol.  With the digital age, Western culture has increasingly emphasized "passive" music consumption versus "active" music making.  Music Together® seeks to change this trend by introducing families and children to fun, interesting, interactive ways to make Music Together.

The Magical Power of Music a Child's Daily Life

The goal of the Music Together family music classes is to bring families together in a community-oriented, relaxed, informal, musical environment which introduces the magical power of family participation in spontaneous musical activity in class, at home, and within the context of daily life. In addition to the music making activities (song, movement and rhythm), families receive valuable information and guidance about how musical exposure at an early age positively impacts a child’s creative, logical, linguistic and kinesthetic development.

Family Involvement in a Child's Musical Journey

With the right conditions, music making can become a part of a child’s life and an integral part of the family daily life and identity. Central to the “Music Together” philosophy is an emphasis on the important role of the parent or adult caregiver in nurturing child’s musical journey.  With Music Together, the entire family can become  involved. With Music Together, families to move beyond the nightly lullaby, weaving music memories into the fabric of their daily lives – at home, in the car or on a family walk.
